Nigel and I are now a few years down the line and I'm delighted to update you with the news that we are getting married. Although we'd talked about getting married it had been rather vague so it was out of the blue when he proposed to me in August! I was completely unaware of his plans.
He had suggested we go out for a meal at one of our favourite restaurants but I was oblivious to any ulterior motive. We'd had our main course when he reached across , took my hand and then fished out a gorgeous diamond ring from his pocket and asked me the big question. I was pretty stunned but managed to say 'yes', then we both got a bit emotional. I'm amazed that none of the other diners noticed this emotional scene but they didn't. I was hoping that the proprietor would come over as I've known him for some time and I was dying to tell someone, but he was occupied elsewhere so we remained in our romantic bubble for sometime.
We soon got on the phone to our respective families and it turned out that Nigel had already asked my Dad's permission, this just seemed so sweet to me and I know that my parents appreciated this gesture. It was just as well my Dad said yes as Nigel had already got the ring (which is perfect - I couldn't have chosen better myself). Roll on next June - luckily we're not clashing with a certain other couple's nuptials! All the best people are getting married in 2011 it seems. So we would like to send a big thank you to Parship for bringing us together - we're having a fantastic time.
